How Much Water Do You Actually Need
The most common starting formula is simple: take your body weight in pounds and divide it in half. The result is your daily fluid target in ounces.

- After training: replace what was lost through sweat.
Practical rule of thumb: for every pound of body weight lost through sweat during a session, replace it with 16 to 24 ounces of fluid.

Why Does My Weight Fluctuate Day to Day?
A jump of two or three pounds overnight is rarely fat — it is almost always water. Sodium intake, carbohydrate intake, hormonal shifts, and even the previous day's training session all change how much water your body is holding onto at any given moment.
